Tonic Communications UAE and Velocity Films South Africa with their TV Gold Lynx for ‘Kick’ TV spot of Sony Wega

Drive Communication Saudi Arabia and VIP Films UAE with the TV Gold Lynx for ‘GPS’ TV spot of Toyota Land Cruiser

Tonic Communications UAE and Filmworks UAE for ‘Ramadan Kareem’ TV spot of Nando’s Restaurant

JWT UAE and Independent Productions UAE won for ‘Robbery’ TV spot of AIG Insurance.

Ed Jones of Saatchi & Saatchi Dubai and his mobile phone (creative!) received the TV Gold Lynx on behalf of Saatchi & Saatchi Lebanon and Lebanon City Films Lebanon for the ‘Animals’ TV spot on Parental Violence for Lebanon’s Ministry of Social Affairs - this was the one ad that stayed with me, long after I had left the Awards ceremony.

If social ads were eligible for a Grand Prix, I would have loved to have the ‘Animals’ TV spot win it. It shows clips of wild animals cuddling their cubs, and then a small little girl with a bruised face, looking really frightened. The spot ends with something like ‘Some kids wish their parents were animals.” My salute to Saatchi & Saatchi Lebanon - you inspire me! I’m going to be sharing that video on this blog soon.
